The family’s wine-making tradition extends several generations, beginning with Franc Saksida in the middle of the 19th Century. The tradition continued with his son, named Jožef Saksida, who successfully marketed the family’s wines. The family’s love for wine was inherited by his son, Jožko Saksida, who in 1985 reset the course of the winery, directing a strong focus on local grape varieties and limited yields that has led to the fine wines produced today. The cellar was completely modernised and the wines began to be sold under the current brand. Today, Jožko is joined by his daughter Ingrid and her husband Marko, who continues the tradition guided by the family’s same time-honoured philosophy: to produce the highest quality wines while thoughtfully respecting the nature their area has given them.
